Distribution of the Corona vaccine

WHO AMONG PEOPLE WILL GET IN FIRST?

Distribution of the developed vaccine is the crucial step where the fate of the people hangs upon.

Note : Iam not a government official or any member of Vaccine reaserch or distribution. Nor an expert in vaccine trials or distribution. Iam just a medical student from India who's just here to share my views.

There are many ways and methods to distribute the vaccine to the population. As per the current situation and ideology of the world I think the following ideas are on the table. 

How many doses of the vaccine will the world need? To achieve herd immunity, the world will need nearly 4.7 billion doses (if the threshold is 60 percent).

1. Distribution based on risk factors

The government of the country may decide to distribute the vaccine first to high risk groups then going down the ladder to general population. I think this is the most suitable and the real scenerio method of distribution. 

2 billion doses will be required to cover the healthcare workers and other high risk groups. First doses will go to healthcare workers, elderly who are most at risk, other high risk groups in hospitals.

After that, it will be distributed among the population, starting with high risk zones, eventually making it to the last mile.

2. Distribution based on date of birth

 Did u watch the movie Pandemic ? The government in that movie distributes a vaccine to a deadly virus by randomly picking dates of a year, so for example if 5 August comes at 69th position then every individual who's born on that date of any year gets the vaccine at 69th distribution event. 

It may seems to be equal distribution irrespective of wealth, sex, age, race or power but there is a negative point to it, it takes presumably a year for distribution and may be a bad thing for the population who are at high risk like health care workers or old people. 

3. Mass distribution 

The scientists are also working for a vehicle for distributimg the vaccine. 

Like to mix in drinking water and distribute for free and effectively or vapourizing the vaccine and spray it in neighborhood like a mosquito control schemes. 

Have u seen the Amazon prime series The last ship, here the scientist develops a vaccine which is in cooperated into the same non virulent virus and makes a CONTAGIOUS VACCINE. So every person who comes in contact with a vaccinated person gets vaccinated by the virus. All the above methods of mass distribution are never tried or tested it may or may not be possible but why not, there is a pretty good chance for it. 

Worldwide distribution is going to be a massive challenge and will involve exceptional coordination between manufacturers, distribution companies, countries and alliances.
